Cotton labels include a temporary HeatnBond backing. This helps reduce fraying when cutting and allows you to temporarily fuse the label in place while stitching, making it easier to position the label neatly before sewing it permanently onto your quilt.

Cotton Labels: Backed with HeatnBond Featherlight. Temporarily holds label in place while sewing. To reduce fraying, fold edges under before stitching.

Polyester Labels: Trim and sew directly onto your quilt. Optional to fold edges under—extra fabric is included for that.

Classic quilting cotton look and feel. Soft, thin, and easy to sew by hand or machine. Best for heirloom, bed, or display quilts with gentle care.

Not quilting cotton. Thicker, non-stretch fabric with a soft, fuzzy (suede-like) feel. Extremely durable and fade-proof. Great for baby quilts, kids’ quilts, and frequent washing. Do not choose if you want a traditional cotton look.

Label Care Instructions

Cotton Labels: Wash on delicate with cold water. Hang to dry or use a low setting. Avoid high heat to preserve print. Not fully colorfast.
Polyester Labels: No special care needed. Machine washable, fade-proof, and long-lasting.

How many labels am I getting?

The number of labels included on each sheet depends on the design. The product variants will explicitly state the number of sheets and how many labels that will be.

What size are the labels?

All of our labels are different sizes depending on the design. Check the product description for specific label dimensions.

Should I choose cotton or polyester fabric labels?

Cotton labels have a classic quilting cotton feel — soft, thin, and easy to sew by hand or machine. They come with HeatnBond Featherlight backing that temporarily holds the label in place while you stitch. Great for heirloom, bed, or display quilts.

Polyester labels are thicker with a soft, fuzzy feel (not a quilting cotton look). They're printed with permanent sublimation ink that won't fade or wash off, ever. No backing included — just trim and sew. These are built for quilts that get washed a lot, like baby or kids' quilts.

Are the flat labels pre-cut?

Your quilt labels will be printed on an 8.5" x 11" sheet ready for you to cut.

How do I attach the flat label to my quilt?

Both the cotton and polyester labels can be sewn directly onto your quilt, but there are a few tricks depending on your label material.

How do I personalize my label?

Fill out the personalization field before you add your label to cart. Different labels have different personalization options. There will be a field for each line on the label that can be personalized. Please check your entry carefully, as the personalization will be printed exactly as it is entered.
